Walters Dimmick Petroleum needed to revamp its internal websites for more efficient management of gas pricing, reports, and inventory. The four existing websites lacked a cohesive design and intuitive user experience, leading to inefficiencies and frustration among employees. Each site served a different purpose—admin management, accounting reports, dealer commissions, and store-level fuel pricing—but the user interfaces were disjointed and difficult to navigate, resulting in delayed decision-making and increased risk of errors.

Overview

I collaborated with the team to streamline and integrate the four websites into a more cohesive and user-friendly system. The focus was on ensuring each website had a clear, intuitive layout tailored to its specific audience—admins, accountants, dealers, and store personnel. I worked on simplifying the data input processes and improving navigation. By reorganizing content, providing clear calls-to-action, and incorporating effective search and reporting tools, we created an intuitive experience that reduced manual errors and enhanced workflow efficiency.

Solution

The redesigned internal websites significantly improved user satisfaction, reducing errors and time spent navigating between sites. Store managers were able to quickly enter daily fuel prices and calculate gross profits, accountants could easily access and modify reports, and the admin site allowed for seamless management of inventory and terminal locations. The streamlined process resulted in more accurate data, faster decision-making, and ultimately improved operational efficiency for Walters Dimmick Petroleum.
